Introduction to Print Making

ArtPark welcomes you to our Gallery and we are very pleased to introduce you to Ivana, professional artist printmaker, who will take you on a journey into linocut printing.

Ivana will demonstrate how this process can be revitalising and transformative, helping you release your own inner creativity.

During this workshop we will explore the wonderful world of linocut printing!

We will design lino block images and then print them on paper.

We start with simple but effective techniques of image making, by drawing in pencil and ink with bamboo sticks. Our focus will be on visual elements such as, line, shape and contrast as we’ll be printing in black ink. Also, we will be exploring creating an illusion of tone with an interplay of lines and pattern.

This workshop is designed for beginners. You may find it helpful to bring along image materials either in a form a sketch, photo or a cut out, size A5 or similar but you are welcome to use our bank of images if you prefer.

In this workshop, you will learn how to safely and confidently cut Lino with appropriate tools and how to print a lino block by hand on paper.

You will leave with drawings and couple of prints created the same evening.

ArtPark Gallery is a small venue with a maximum workshop size of 10 people.

We are a licenced premises (Over 18’s only, please do not bring your own food and drink) During the event, you will be able to purchase soft drinks/tea/coffee, and after you have finished being creative, the full bar will be open should you wish to share your work and experience with others.
